Blue is the colour, football is the game... if you are familiar with the anthem, you will know Chelsea is the name! Chelsea Football Club has held many achievements in both European and English football records. Including the highest ever points total scored during a league season, consecutive clean sheets, fewest league goals conceded during a season, the highest number of Premier League wins in a season and even have the highest win percentage. As well as these records, Chelsea have many 'first' achievements. Such as being the first team to play with numbers on their shirts (with Arsenal) and the first team to travel by aeroplane to a domestic match. Chelsea Football Club was also the first British Premier League team have a starting line up that had no British or Irish players and was exclusively made up of foreign players.

Chelsea Football Club is currently owned by Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich, who famously bought the club for a record breaking £140 million in 2003. He went on to spend over £100 million on new players. However the club did not truly reap what it had sowed until the fiery Portuguese coach José Mourinho took over as Manager. With Mourinho as Manager Chelsea won back-to-back league championships, the FA Cup and two League Cups. September 2007 saw Mourinho was replaced by Avram Grant who, despite leading the team to their first UEFA Champions League final, was sacked as Chelsea failed to win it. Luiz Felipe Scolari replaced Grant in July 2008. With a personality to rival Mourinho, Scolari looks set to leave Chelsea fans wearing blue, but not feeling it!

The Chelsea Football Club home strip has always traditionally been blue. However earlier versions were a lighter shade and the players wore white shorts and black socks. The familiar Home Kit of Royal Blue shirt, shorts and white socks was introduced in 1964 and although updated versions are released, this kit has remained ever since.
