The Disney Princesses

The Disney Princesses have been around for over 70 years starting with Snow White in the 1937 film Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. Cinderella followed in 1950, Sleeping Beauty – Princess Aurora in 1959 and more recently The Little Mermaid – Princess Ariel, Belle, Princess Jasmine, Pocahontas and Mulan. New for 2009 will be Princess Tiana in The Princess and the Frog.
Amazingly only since 2001 has there been a Disney Princess franchise operation. In 2006 sales topped $3 billion dollars with more than 25,000 products available – we stock a few but not that many! Disney on ice has proved to be a massive success with fabulous costumes and wonderful sets – I know I’ve been!
Should you get as far as Florida you can get to meet your favourite princess at specific locations around the park or see Cinderella and her friends in the Magic Kingdom Castle.
In 2006 to add to the every increasing line of merchandise offered by Disney the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique was opened. Little girls from age 3 years upwards can be transformed into a Disney Princess with dresses, hairstyles, wands, make-up and of course crowns. It’s not cheap though prices can go up to $280!!
