More About Lazy Town Bedding

Lazy Town : Meet the characters, play games and check out a whole range of activities at this fun website.

Lazy Town is a fantastic and refreshing children's programme created by its star Magnús Scheving. Better known as Sportacus, the hero of Lazy Town, Scheving is a gymnastics champion from Iceland who believed he could encourage children to get off the sofa and go outside to have some fun.

Having done extensive research into the quality, cost and content of current television programmes on offer, Magnus Scheving created a programme that bucks the trend in trying to appeal to both adults and children, solely concentrating on its 3 - 7 year old target audience. Each episode of Lazy Town reportedly costs over $1,000,000 to make and is produced in a specially designed high tech studio based in Iceland. Using the latest and most advanced technology, each episode sees amazing cutting edge CGI mixed with real sets and real actors and high spec latex puppets.

Now transmitted in over 100 countries, Lazy Town has experienced incredible success. Originally a play, Lazy Town now has spin offs including a touring stage production called Lazy Town Live! and Lazy Town Extra, which is aimed at younger children.

The main characters in Lazy Town are Stephanie, Sportacus and Robbie Rotten.
Stephanie, played by the actress Julianna Rose Mauriello, came to Lazy Town to visit her uncle the Mayor Milford Meanswell. Stephanie has distinctive pink hair and her clothes and accessories are also pink. She loves to be active and play games outside and eat healthy food. Stephanie makes friends with Ziggy, Trixie, Stingy, and Pixel (who are actually puppets), but is dismayed that all her new friends want to do is stay inside, play computer games and eat sugary candy! On advice from her uncle, Stephanie seeks the help of Sportacus to get the people of Lazy Town active and healthy.

Sportacus, played by Magnus Scheving, is the blue Lycra clad 'Slightly-Above-Average Hero' who resides in a space ship above Lazy Town.
He comes from "an island in the North Sea" and his mission is to encourage the children of Lazy Town to eat fruit and vegetables, which he calls 'sports candy'. He wants the children to be healthy, happy and fit.
Sportacus is always doing physical activity and exercise, sometimes he will incorporate elaborate exercises into everyday activities to make them more fun and to add exercise to his daily life, such as somersaults getting out of bed, or jumps to cross a room, or using a tennis racket to chop apples.
Sportacus is patient, kind and understanding and has a number '10' on his chest that flashes when the one of the children of Lazy Town is in trouble and needs his help.

Sportacus' arch enemy is Robbie Rotten. Robbie Rotten is played by Stefan Karl Stefansson and is the villain of Lazy Town. Robbie Rotten lives in a lair on the edge of Lazy Town, his favourite pastimes include watching TV and snacking on candy. He wants Lazy Town to remain lazy, the way it was before Stephanie and Sportacus arrived. He is forever trying to come up with a plan or scheme that will show the children of Lazy Town that Sportacus is not cool, and will result in Sportacus leaving town forever. His plans usually involve elaborate disguises and costumes. However, Robbie Rotten's plans always fail due to Sportacus's amazing athletic abilities, quick thinking and of course added help from the children of Lazy Town.
