Tinker Bell became a well known and recognised character of children's fiction after famously featuring in Barrie's play, 'The boy who wouldn't grow up'. Perhaps best known for her animated appearance in 'Peter Pan' in 1953, and the sequel 'Return to Neverland' in 2002, Tinker Bell's magic has delighted generations of children.

Disney's latest incarnation of Tinkerbell sees Mae Whitman provide the voice for everyone's favourite fairy. Joined by a star studded cast, including Lucy Liu, Anjelica Huston, and America Ferrera. Walt Disney's presentation of Tinkerbell (2008) is a beautifully animated film that tells the tale of Tinkerbell's back story. It is produced by Disneytoon studios and features computer 3D animated modelling.

Disney invites you into the secret world of Pixie Hollow, a land of adventure and mystery. It is here that we are introduced to Tinkerbell. True to the text of J.M. Barrie, a baby laughs and Tinkerbell is born. A magical ritual bestows upon Tinkerbell her destined occupation... a tinker! Not quite content with what is bestowed upon her, we follow her path through Neverland, and the cutesy chaos that ensues. On the journey we meet her four best fairy friends - Silvermist the water fairy, Rosetta the garden fairy, Iridessa the light fairy and Fawn the animal fairy. The fairies, with the help of a little pixie dust, are in charge of the changing seasons, and we follow their adventures through the breathtakingly beautiful and complex world in which they inhabit, and into their homes in Pixie Hollow, which are filled with mythology and secrets.

Obviously passionate about their film, (and proud that Tinkerbell finally has a voice!) the lovely people of Disney have even leant Tinkerbell's voice to the speaking clock! Disney are sponsoring Britain's speaking clock, featuring the voice of Tinkerbell for three months, commencing October 2008, to coincide with the release of Tinkerbell on DVD. A sequel to the film "Tinkerbell and the Lost Treasure". has delighted more fans since is release in 2009.
