'Peppa Pig' is a childrens' cartoon that tells the story of a cheeky little pig called Peppa. Peppa is five years old and lives with Mummy Pig, Daddy Pig and her little brother Pig, George, who she likes looking after. She also likes playing with her best friend Suzy Sheep, and going to visit Granny and Grandpa Pig. However, her favourite thing in the whole world is to stomp around in muddy puddles and make loud, giggly, snorty noises. Peppa is a happy and likeable little character, and along with her family has become very popular with young children, particularly girls. Due to the bright, fun and appealing colours of the Peppa Pig cartoon and Peppa's sweet and lively character, there has been a demand amongst young children for products and accessories featuring images from the Peppa Pig cartoon. Amongst the range of items available are Peppa Pig backpacks, Peppa Pig rucksacks and Peppa Pig umbrellas.

There are three designs of Peppa Pig backpacks available, the first of which is rectangular and features a sizeable front pocket - perfect for a play-time snack or pencil case to fit in to! This backpack is primarily sky blue in colour, though features pink side panels and edging with a blue zip across the top. The easily recognisable Peppa Pig logo features on the front of the rucksack, as does a picture of Peppa herself holding her teddy with the words 'play time' written above her. The shape and dimensions of this bag mean it's easy to pack and able to accommodate a lot, though padded straps ensure it's comfortable for little shoulders.

Another backpack that's likely to be popular with little girls is the Peppa Pig Cosmic Flowers Backpack. This bag has a rounded top and features a cute front pocket that fastens with a velcro-adorned flower flap. The bag is mostly a bright cranberry colour, though the side panels and front pocket feature a floral pattern made up of the flowers dotted around the main image. This image is of Peppa herself wearing her trademark red dress and looking up at a little butterfly friend.

Whilst Peppa is naturally popular with the little girls that watch the cartoon, there is also merchandise available aimed more at little boys, and this tends to feature her little brother George. The Peppa Pig Spaceman George backpack is again a good shape able to accommodate everything a little boy could need, and features the same padded shoulder straps for added comfort. The lack of front pocket means that this rucksack features a much larger image than the other two, with a big picture of George on the moon wearing an astronaut suit. Flying just above him is his large rocket blasting out into space with his little friend poking his head out of the window. With the exception of the moon, the bag is completely navy blue, with red edging, a fun rocket shaped zip-pull.

As well as Peppa Pig backpacks, there is also a Peppa Pig swimming bag and Peppa Pig sports-kit bag available. The Peppa Pig swimming bag is made from a translucent blue plastic, and is fastened by two yellow poppers at the top. This fun little bag is carried by a yellow cord that has on it a flexible blue plastic hand strap, making it more comfortable to carry to the swimming pool. The image on the bag is that of Peppa and the whole Pig family, and this easily recognisable and charming design makes it the perfect bag for a young child to take to swimming lessons.

Like the Peppa Pig swimming bag, the sports-kit bag features a bold design, though this time with just Peppa and her younger brother George, who are shown riding their bikes in front of their house on a lovely, sunny day. This bag is large enough to accommodate a child's P.E. clothes including trainers, and the easily cleanable material means it's perfect for carrying muddy kit around. The bag has a draw-string fastening typical of childrens' sports bags, and is carried by two yellow cord straps.

Also available in the Peppa Pig range are two childrens' umbrellas, perfect for keeping little heads wet when stomping in puddles like Peppa! Both umbrellas are light-weight, so ideal for children to carry. They also feature an easy grip handle, pinch-proof runners (something very important for protecting little fingers) and a safety tip. The Peppa Pig umbrellas are available in two different designs. The first design is known as the 'Peppa Pig Spaceman George Umbrella'. The umbrella is made up of plain red sections, and sections that feature an image of George with a rocket, matching the one on the Spaceman George backpack. The other umbrella is bright green and blue, and alternate sections feature images of Peppa and George riding their bikes. This umbrella then matches the image featured on the sports-kit bag.
